Born Anxious is a homegrown clothing label with two objectives, to make the clothes as comfortable as possible, whilst also remaining planet friendly, and to hold important information that will aim to help not only the child, but also the caregiver as well when required. As an autism mum myself, I have thought about what could help me and other caregivers whilst trying to be as generic as possible within the designs, alongside giving those the opportunity to personalise their products as well.
ABOUT ME
My name's Amy Steele and I live in Bristol. I am 35 years young and am the proud owner
of a small human named Madz (aka Maddie/Madison!)
6 years ago, after I had given birth to Madz, I suffered severe Post Natal Depression and was sectioned and sent to a Mother and Baby Unit. My experience with perinatal mental ill health inspired me to launch 'One Tuff Muvva' which is an lnstagram platform designed to inspire and give hope to those going through similar experiences.
I have been working in the creative industry for over 16 years and design is definitely my passion. I currently work full time for a well known online greetings card company as a Senior Designer and in my spare time I create designs for Born Anxious. Thanks to Kellie and Born Anxious I have been lucky enough to work on projects for Harvey Price and Leon Logothetis and many more incredible and inspiring people.
I love 90's/00's rock and metal music and have an unhealthy obsession with the colour black. My favourite drink is Coffee (filter with cream please!) but I am also partial to the odd glass of 19 Crimes red wine! I have a blue budgie called Jax who has a few anger issues but we still love him! When I am not working or doing designs for Born Anxious, I like to spend my time riding my beautiful Purple Triumph Street Triple motorbike or going for walks with Madz. My favourite country in the world is Canada and I have been lucky enough to visit lots of times since my teens. I even planned to move there when I was 19 but unfortunately it didn't happen ... but never say never eh!
