Born Anxious is a homegrown clothing label with two objectives, to make the clothes as comfortable as possible, whilst also remaining planet friendly, and to hold important information that will aim to help not only the child, but also the caregiver as well when required. As an autism mum myself, I have thought about what could help me and other caregivers whilst trying to be as generic as possible within the designs, alongside giving those the opportunity to personalise their products as well.
I'm Purple Ella, a disabled YouTuber who is autistic and has ADHD. Before I knew that my brain worked differently I really struggled with many aspects of life. I worked really hard to figure out what was going on, why couldn't I manage things the same way other people seem to. Finally I realised that I'm neurodiverse, and that really helped me to learn how to care for my brain, and body and how to reach my goals.
Since then I've become passionate about helping other neurodiverse people to learn to live their happiest lives, whatever that might look like for them.
When Born Anxious contacted me to collaborate on a t-shirt I knew it needed a positive slogan. Something that was reassuring and encouraging. Especially because at the moment the world is pretty crazy.
One of the things I often say to myself and my family is 'we've got this' as in whatever life throws at us we can handle it. Even if handling it looks like weeping into a bar of chocolate on the sofa! We will keep moving forward, one step at a time and I know that you can too, so I want this t-shirt to remind you of that whenever you wear it. We've got this!
