As creator of Born Anxious clothing a UK based social enterprise that uses label free organic fabrics. We make to order to avoid mass production as our commitment to the planet, using local makers and creators to help us.
We are firm believers in the communities we live in.
Previous experience that I have gained puts me in good stead to lead inclusion and accessibility for this community project, having worked alongside community projects before in shared community spaces creating employment for Autistic adults I have seen the benefit.
Born Anxious is proud partners with Autism Allotments
We are creating a community safe space to connect with nature and each other in a pilot project we hope will grow across the UK.
The project consists of a community run allotment that will be managed and run by a carefully selected team of parent carers, educators and experts in safeguarding, to create something really special.
The allotments will be a hub for the community to learn about plants and how to grow produce, a place to learn social skills and make friends, a place to nurture and be proud off and learn new skills.
We are hoping this will be a place that is inclusive and accessible to everyone of all communication styles and physical need, and a real place to grow together.
We are also hoping the allotment can be a place to learn new skills for young autistic people to grow in confidence which will help them seek relationships and employment.
We are excited to begin this project and where it can lead to.
