Born Anxious have collaborated with Patchwork Hub founder, Beth Kume-Holland, on her own clothing label, My Own Kind of Music (MOKOM), to create these brand new designs which embody the values of our customers. We are delighted to be teaming up to raise awareness of our fundamental values of inclusivity and creating a world where people are given the opportunity to to thrive, rather than simply survive.

Beth Kume-Holland is a young female entrepreneur who works to raise awareness of invisible disabilities and challenge the public perceptions of disability. Beth lives with fibromyalgia and other chronic health conditions and she started ‘My Own Kind of Music’ following a very difficult experience as a disabled professional and graduate of both Harvard and Oxford University.

Beth started this label to remind people that chronic illness or health conditions are not something you should have to overcome or emerge heroically from. It’s about embracing your true self, seeing that there is a place for you and remembering that you are not alone, no matter how hard things may seem sometimes.

Patchwork Hub Background

When founder Beth Kume-Holland’s chronic health conditions left her unemployed, it was through disability advocacy work and meeting others in her position that she developed the vision for Patchwork Hub. Patchwork Hub was born out of a realisation that traditional office-based work practices needlessly exclude many individuals who could thrive in work if they were given more flexibility to work in a way that fitted their circumstances.

Now, the disabled-led social enterprise is a growing global employment platform and startup connecting employers to highly-skilled professionals who are seeking work opportunities outside of the traditional 9-5 office job.
